Seven steps to happiness

This time I met Karta in Karlsruhe - it's about 5 hour drive from Eindhoven. Not a big deal if you're about to meet the master.
The subject of the workshop was - "7 Steps to happiness".
According to Karta and Yogi Bhajan:
"Commitment leads to Character
Character leads to Dignity
Dignity leads to Divinity
Divinity leads to Grace
Grace leads to Power of Sacrifice
Power to Sacrifice leads to Happiness".
Happiness comes only when your tolerance becomes so wide that... like an ocean... your kindness and compassion becomes so practical that it cannot shake itself, and with all that you live in gratitude of the totality of God.

Some people have made religion as a joke. "Holier than thou." They play a worst part of the best of the situation. Without kindness, life is empty. Without compassion life has no direction. Once somebody asked me, "What is the direction in life?" I said, "Be compassionate." (Person yells): "Easier to say than do!" I said, "It is easy to yell and scream. On one hand you are asking. On other hand I am telling. Why we are fighting?" (Person again yells): "I cannot be compassionate. I get angry!" I said, "Don't." Person said, "But I DO!" I said, "You have three rights to get angry. 1. On yourself; 2. you get angry with one you love; 3. you get angry when you have to mature your own immaturity. These are three rules for which a person can use anger." Person said, "So I love you." I said, "Okay." Person said, "I am angry at you." I said, "That's fine. That's reasonable." Person said, "But I cannot be compassionate." I said, "At least start. Be kind." "How I can be
kind?" I said, "You say, 'Please tell me. My mind is going to go spin. And I cannot control myself. I am out of control. Is there any way?'" She said, "All right." I said, "It is very simple. The day that you give one tenth of your time, 24 hours, 2-1/2 hours, you give to your mind, you fight with it, it takes 2-1/2 hours of direct combat with the mind to calm it down for the rest of the time, then prosperity is granted, doesn't matter which state of mind you are."

We had covered steps 1 and 2 and this is supposed to be enough for the current incarnation :-)
The exercises were simple but tough, sitting with your arms risen up above your head for 31 minutes is not so easy, but the feeling of being blessed that you get in the end is worth the effort.
I'm looking forward to meet Karta in the future and meanwhile will be practicing as usual.

KY meditation when you don't know what to do

What It Will Do for You

When you don’t know what to do, try this meditation. It is very simple, but very powerful if done correctly. It coordinates both areas of the brain, gives you powerful insight and coordinates the mystery of spiritual phenomena into the mastery of the three bodies (physical, mental and spiritual). Though it looks simple, it solves many complications. It is sometimes called gyan mudra kriya.

How to Do It
Sit straight, crosslegged or in a chair. Relax the arms down by the side of the body. Bend the elbows and raise the hands up and in until they meet at the level of the chest. The fingers of each hand are extended and joined in a relaxed way. Cross the hands with both palms facing toward the chest. One palm rests in the other and the thumbs are crossed. The fingers point up at a comfortable angle. (The position of left and right hand is interchangeable for this exercise.)
Look at the third eye, then bring the eyes to the tip of the nose.
  1. Inhale through the nose, then exhale through the nose.
  2. Now, inhale through the mouth, and exhale through the mouth.
  3. Next, inhale through the nose, and exhale through the mouth.
  4. Finally, inhale through the mouth, and exhale through the nose.
Continue this sequence. All breaths should be deep, complete, and powerful. When breathing through the mouth, purse the lips almost as if to whistle.
Start practicing this kriya for 11 minutes and gradually increase the time to a half hour.

Fasting again

It's about time for the regular maintenance.
I'll be fasting for the coming 10-14 days starting immediately.
Food is good but the health is more important. Fasting can recharge and energize your body, help to detox and cleansing your systems, improve the condition of the skin and the internal organs. It is known to cure allergies, digestive diseases, may prevent and even cure many types of cancer and diabetes.
I'm not suffering from any of those but I also wish to remain in sound health condition always, so little house-cleaning and tuning-up will not be waste in vain.
Moreover, fasting is good for stretching and stretching is good for yoga, so wish me luck or join me if you feel the urge. Tonight I will do the Shank-Prakshalana before going to bed. You can do the same :-)

Workshop with Karta Singh

It's my pleasure to say that I will be attending a workshop on Kundalini Yoga with Karta Singh.
Karta belongs to Sikhism tradition as well as Yogi Bhajan did, and all we know that Sikhs are and have always been proud and fearless warriors.
Just look at the picture to see how fearless and proud they are!
So I decided to commemorate the deeds of Karta, Bhajan and all teachers of the Golden Chain with this song.
The title is "the Chariot to the devil", but drive no wrong conclusion because we know that the devil is the creature of the almighty God and also his strongest supporter.
