Oranje boven!!!

Queen's Day (Dutch: Koninginnedag) on April 30 (or celebrated on April 29 if the 30th is Sunday[1]) is a national holiday in the Netherlands, Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles. It started as a celebration of the Dutch monarchy. It is mainly known for the 'vrijmarkt' (literally 'freemarket'), the one day in the year that anyone is allowed to sell anything in the streets. The night before is celebrated as 'Koninginnenacht' (queen's night).

The holiday is celebrated on this date because it was the birthday of Queen Juliana (1909-2004). When Queen Beatrix succeeded Juliana on 30 April 1980, she decided to keep the holiday on April 30 as a tribute to her mother. Furthermore, the weather on her own birthday (January 31) tends to prohibit the traditional outdoor festivities. 30 April, however, is renowned for having very pleasant weather.

Prior to 1949 the holiday was celebrated on August 31, the birthday of Queen Wilhelmina.

On Queen's Day the monarch, Queen Beatrix, visits one or two towns where she is received with celebrations in her honor. These celebrations often involve traditional Dutch dances and demonstrations of old crafts.

The previous monarch, Queen Juliana, would welcome people who came to the Soestdijk Palace. She and her family would stand on a dais, and a long line of citizens would walk past, congratulating the Queen and presenting her gifts.

Sandrine Kiberlain - Manquait plus qu'ça

Y a du monde
Dans ce beau monde
Déambulent les brunes
Y a du monde
Dans ce beau monde
Gesticulent les blondes
Des couleurs
Une mappemonde
Des visages
Qui de confondent

Un soleil pour tout le monde
Une seule vie pour chacun
Les mêmes minutes qui fondent
Une seule vie, une seule fin

Y a du monde
Dans ce bas monde
Des qui dorment dans le froid
Des qui comptent les secondes
Y a du monde
Dans ce bas monde
Des pays
Des maisons
Le même ciel
Les saisons

Un soleil pour tout le monde
Une seule vie pour chacun
Les mêmes minutes qui fondent
Une seule vie, une seule fin

Un passé pour tout le monde
Un avenir pour certains
Y a des bons
Y a des chiens
Y a du monde
Dans notre monde
Y a une lune
Vide ou ronde
Le même refrain qui revient

Un soleil pour tout le monde
Une seule vie pour chacun
Les mêmes minutes qui fondent
Une seule vie, une seule fin

Un soleil pour tout le monde
Une seule vie pour chacun
Les mêmes minutes qui fondent
Une seule vie, une seule fin

Meditation to change Poverty into Prosperity

Part I

Mudra: Sit in Easy Pose with a straight spine, chin in, chest out. Bring both hands into Giaan Mudra (touch the tip of the index finger to the tip of the thumb, other fingers straight). Place the right hand next to the right shoulder, palm facing forward. The fingers point up towards the ceiling, and the hand is up at the level of the face. The left elbow is bent into the side, and the left hand is resting, palm up, on left knee.

Eyes: Closed.

Mantra: Chant 25th pauree of Japji Sahib aloud.

Time: The meditation was done for nearly 28 minutes, then he gave the class a break to ask them to "raise the energy higher," and they resumed for another 6 minutes.

End: Inhale, hold the posture, and move immediately into Part II.

Comments/Effects: "This shabad will change your poverty into prosperity." Yogi Bhajan made this comment before the final 6 minutes: "Go higher in notes and now sing, energizing the electromagnetic energy of the Earth, and passing it on to the Heavens. Don't be here. Pull the electromagnetic energy from the Earth by your will. You are ready now. You have a blue arcline, so push it into the Heavens."

Part II

Mudra: Same as above.

Breath: Breathe very long, deep, and slow through the nose. In the silence, hear the
sound of the mantra in your inner ear.

Time: 4 minutes, 45 seconds.

End: Inhale deeply, squeeze your entire spine, all 26 vertebrae, from bottom to top, bringing the energy from the Earth to the Heavens. Hold 15-20 seconds. Fire the breath out. Repeat 3 times total.

Comments/Effects: Breathing in this posture will reorganize your pranic energy. Breathe long and deep, and change the dimension of your being into the beyond.

Bhangara Dance was done to

a tape for a few minutes, after this meditation. Yogi Bhajan said it was important to dance before everyone went home to sleep, in order to balance out the energy and keep the nervous system strong.
